VERSION 5.0

The Software with which you can design Each Component of the Water Supply System in Buildings

Design by applying the HUNTER Method or, if you prefer,

With a Simultaneous Factor Method

PLUMBER allows you to select between two Methodologies:

Use of Fixture Units (HUNTER)

Since its first version, published in May 2012, our software has been based on the HUNTER method (Fixture units), allowing the user to specify in it the Fixture Units values per Sanitary Fixture that her country’s sanitary codes establish, in order to make the determination of probable flows based on the total fixture units conveyed by each pipe section of the water network.

Use of Simultaneous Factors Methods

PLUMBER will allow you to select from several methods:

  • Calculation based on the Number of Sanitary Fixtures (Formula).
  • Specifying in a table the simultaneous flow factor values according to the number of sanitary Fixtures.
  • Calculation According to Standard UNE 149.201 Formula

Are you worried about not meeting the plumbing design codes of your country?

PLUMBER offers you the necessary dialogs so that you can adapt the values to be used in the calculation and automatic design to what the plumbing codes of your country establish, either at the level of Fixture Units (HUNTER’S Method) or Maximum Simultaneous Flow (simultaneous flow factor methods) for each sanitary fixture.

You can enter not only the fixture units and flow values but also the minimum diameter of the fixture’s pipe as well as the minimum operating pressure required by codes regulation for each sanitary fixture.

After doing it the first time, you will not have to worry because you can leave these values as default in the program for you to carry out your future projects.

Create the Water Networks by Drawing or by Importing them from Drawing Files (DWG/DXF)

With the PLUMBER'S Drawing Area You can:

  • Import AUTOCAD® DWG/DXF format (prior or equal to the 2018 version) Drawing Files that you can use as a background and scale image in your projects.
  • Create the components of the interior water supply networks by directly drawing within the program, separating them by drawing layers.
  • Display the results directly through colors and messages on the drawing area.
  • Create water networks through the import and conversion of graphic objects contained in a drawing files in AUTOCAD® DXF or DWG format. In this way the introduction of lengths, elbows, sanitary fixtures as well as the geometric configuration of the network will be error-free and stop being a tedious process
  • Show Warning symbols (in the drawing area and in Nodes tables), in which anomalies such as inconsistent diameters and velocities out of recommended ranges, among others, are highlighted, thus allowing you to have a better understanding of the Design of the Plumbing water system.

What Type of Water Network do you Want to Design?

PLUMBER will allow you to choose, for each water network, if the supply is made Ascending(Floor-Sanitary Fixtures) or Descending (Roof-Sanitary Fixtures)

The easiest way to Select and Design Water Meters, Storage Tanks, Pressure Reducing Valves and Pumps

For you who know how complicated it can be to determine the operating parameters and select devices such as Pumps, Hydropneumatic, Water Meters and Pressure Reducing Valves in any water supply project in buildings, you will find in PLUMBER everything you need to simplify your work in practically 80%

  • To calculate the head losses in Water Meters, you can choose to use a formula or define a constant head loss. Also, for Water Meter’s Diameter selection purposes, you can specify the table of nominal flows in the Meter’s Manager.
  • We have incorporated in the new PLUMBER the Water Demands Library, used also in our CLOACAS and AQUEDUCTOS programs, so that you can easily calculate, based on the use of the building (or buildings) in your project, the respective Total Potable Water Demand.
  • You can include in your project Water Storage Tanks, for which, based on your criteria, the useful volume will be automatically calculated. Among the design options will be to define its capacity based on a percentage of the total potable water demand or from a storage time of the flow supplied by the tank.
  • It is possible to include, at the water networks source point, a Pressure Reducing Valve. In this way you will have the option to specify the pressure drop or let the program, in the calculation of water distribution systems with several levels, determine what is the required pressure drop on each floor so as not to exceed the maximum pressure specified. Of course, the calculation of water network pressures will consider the existence of this device upstream.
  • With the addition of a Database with Characteristic Curves of Pumps in your project, you can make the selection and evaluation of the water supply by pumping in your projects. You can select the Suction Type: Direct (from the public network) or from an Underground Tank, as well as the Discharge Type: Direct (to the Building Supply network), to an Elevated Tank (also including the automatic design of the discharge pipe) or to a hydropneumatics Tank.

Have you manually calculated the lists of materials
required to build your designs?

If the answer is yes, you will know how tedious and prone to errors, in the issue of plumbing systems in buildings, could be this activity.

Because, it is not only totalize the pipe lengths for each of the design resulting diameters, but to count each fitting as tees, elbows and reductions for each of these diameters. This is a task that performed manually, at a minimum, will take about 5 hours of work. And without consider that, when making any modification in the design, you must dedicate at least two more hours to perform the associated updating.

With PLUMBER the generation of material lists by water network, by Plumbing Riser, by Risers Plan and for the Project’s total is immediate. Just click a button and you will have all the lists: from the most specific to the total one of the project. No delays and no headaches.

You can Generate Plan and Isometric Drawings with Annotations

The advantage that PLUMBER gives you is that your work area is directly the plan view of the water network that you will generate in your project’s documents.

Thus, once the automatic design is done, you just have to click a button to generate the annotations with properties such as diameters, lengths and name of sanitary fixtures, among others.

Also, by clicking just other button, you can generate isometric views of the plumbing system, of course, also with their respective annotations.

You will have several options to configure the drawings, such as layers and annotations managers and, of course, you can export them to be read by CAD programs.

And Many Features you Have to Discover:

  • The possibility of presenting the Symbol, in the drawing area, of the Sanitary Fixtures water inlet and Devices such as Water Meters, Pumps and Valves is included.
  • You can choose between the Hazen-Williams Equation or Darcy-Weisbach's Equation for the Head Losses Calculation in the water Networks’ pipes.
  • A new Node: The Vertical Pipe has been added so you can model small vertical changes in the layout of water distribution networks.
  • We have incorporated the option of Undo and Redo for most of the water network drawing actions.
  • It is possible to create Interior Risers for any number of levels, in order to supply networks from other networks without the need for a Plumbing Riser.
  • We have practically rewritten the hydraulic design and calculation routines from scratch in order to model three-dimensional networks more accurately.
